I had my twins on February 1st 2023, and as a first time mom I was excited and nervous. You hear so many people talk about what they did and didn’t use, obviously you will have to find your own groove and what works for you. I wanted to share a few of the products and items we used and why they worked for us. Click on the pictures or the buttons to purchase any of the products.

Our Favorite Gas Relief Solution
Gas issues were some of my biggest concerns, because I know when I was a baby I caused my parents a lot of sleepless nights with gas. My mother recommended Mylicon Drops and they worked wonders for both of our babies. I recommend them to any friend that is in need of a solution. You may be familiar with the “Gripe Water” made by Mommy’s Bliss, a lot of people love that product and swear by it, but I did a lot of research on all of the products I wanted to give the twins and I was too scared to give it to them. Allegedly, a couple of parents had given it to their children and it got tacky in their throats because they weren’t swallowing it fast enough and it would suffocate them. Like I said, that’s just what I read in my research, I don’t have any personal proof. Mylicon Drops helped them almost instantly when they had tummy troubles, and honestly it doesn’t taste bad and they never minded taking it.
Preferred Nose Frida Tool
There are a ton of booger/ snot retrieval tools but this one we swear by. My cousin got us one for our baby shower, and it’s been a lifesaver. I had no idea that babies can’t breathe out of their mouths until a certain age, so having some sort of device is mandatory. Many people like the ones where you use your mouth to suck it all out, but lets be honest one like that seems like it would limit the amount of people able to help with the task. If you have an electric one then grandparents or whoever might feel more comfortable helping with the task. It also seems more efficient to me to have the electric one. Overall, I can’t imagine using any of the other ones because this one is just so easy. The tool is easy to clean and comes with a cleaning tool, a case, and two nose piece sizes so the tool can grow with your child. The tool is easy to use in public and a lot more discreet. The case makes it easy to tote in your diaper bag as well.
Pacifiers
My son was more interested in pacifiers than my daughter ever was, but they both preferred the same kind, as did my bestie’s little girl. The ones they give you at the hospital are fine, but it seemed like when they were tiny those were hard for them to keep ahold of. We switched to the Tommee Tippee ones and both of my babies preferred them, and it seemed easier for them to keep in their mouths. The pacifiers are super easy to wash.
Tummy Time Playset
We used a few different tummy time activity sets but the twins were the most drawn to this one. The lights, sounds, toys, and tummy time pillow were all really colorful and enjoyable. The toy wasn’t really obnoxious like some toys can be. As a Disney person, I loved that it was Ray. I felt like this toy really grew with them. They are 17 months old now and they still play with it, so we definitely got our money out of the item. I like that it’s stimulating and encourages them to do tummy time because they are having fun. My son HATED tummy time and the other tummy time toys we used really didn’t cut it for him but this one helped. As they progressed and practiced reaching and all of those skills they really loved this too. It was the first activity set I feel that they really gravitated toward and actually wanted to engage with.
Keekaroo
I’ll be honest, it took me a minute to really utilize this changing pad but once I did I fell in love with it. I used it in the bed in the middle of the night while they were still sleeping in their bassinet, on the couch during the day to change a quick diaper, and in their bedroom on the changing table. Diaper changes, especially the messy ones, were so much easier to clean with the Keekaroo. The quality is amazing and it’s so easy to clean. Some people might think it’s unnecessary and for some it might be, but for me it was super useful. In the beginning, I was having to wake up every three hours and feed them so having somewhere I could change them and not have to leave the room to do so or risk a mess on my bed was so convenient. It was a simple change, feed, and back to bed all right there because I had a cart set up full of everything we needed. We also have a dresser we painted for their room and we used it as a changing table so this was the perfect pad to put on it.
