Unfortunately, I was super concerned about weight gain during pregnancy. I ate super healthy during my entire pregnancy and was fortunate not to gain much. Before I got pregnant I had just began a weight loss journey from gaining some “happy/comfort weight” in my relationship. Once I found out I was pregnant I immediately stopped going to the gym and mainly just focused on eating well.

I’ll be sharing a bit of my postpartum fitness journey and the products that I believe helped me to get where I am now and will continue to get me to my goals.

After giving birth, I had 25 lbs I wanted to lose. My reasoning for not gaining too much weight was that I did not trust myself to lose it leading to a spiral of emotions about it, and with newborns who has time for any of that? The Mediterranean Diet really helped me. I have linked a cookbook here. Over the years I had tried many different diets, haven’t we all? Low carb always worked really well for me if I wanted to lose weight rather quickly, but I wanted something a bit more sustainable. This cookbook has a bunch of really good recipes that I enjoyed. As a mom that typically has to make three separate dinners a night, I found that they weren’t too complicated or time consuming, which is a huge plus to me.

Two Of My Favorite Items For The Gym

When I was in college I was big in the gym and a lot of my friends were body builders, so you could say my world revolved around broccoli, chicken, and weight lifting. As time went on, I fell off of the fitness girly wagon but after having the kids it has been one of my biggest determinations to resume. Two items that helped me achieve a lot of my goals back then I made sure to add back into my regimen. I SWEAR by Sweet Sweat. I never went to the gym without it back then, so of course I had to make sure I didn’t this time. I’ve never been a big sweater, and some of you may be thinking, “well maybe you weren’t working hard enough;” however, I can assure you I was and my results could prove it. Genuinely, I miss that college body I had, but I’ll get it back. Sweet Sweat gel, if you’re unfamiliar helps you to sweat more to burn water weight. Without Sweet Sweat I barely would break a sweat unless I was doing extreme cardio. So, if you need to sweat or sweat more I HIGHLY recommend the product. The body builders I was friends with at the time introduced me to the product. I have linked it here so you can snag my favorite one.

Now that we all have Sweet Sweat in our gym bags, the next item that I highly recommend you add in there is a fitness journal. Of course there are a number of apps to help you track your workout and your progress, but I can’t help it I am super old fashioned and prefer to handwrite everything. I still use a physical planner everyday and refuse to get a Kindle because I’d rather hold and smell the book. So, this product might not be for everyone but my fellow physical planner and book readers this is for you. I use this fitness journal to keep track of reps, sets, and progress. Just going in the gym willy nilly is fine, but being able to look back on your progress that you’ve kept good record of is rewarding. This journal is also super cute, and super cute supplies are my FAV. I think having cute accessories just romanticizes life and makes activities like the gym even more enjoyable.

I’m a sucker for a good smoothie or a smoothie bowl. I think I could live off of smoothie bowls. There’s nothing I love more than a smoothie bowl and using dehydrated mangos as the spoon, listen I know that’s a lot of sugar but it isn’t a chocolate bar so… My mother gifted me this exact Ninja because of my obsession with smoothies. I also have been able to use this tool for making homemade pesto, peanut butter, and a good deal of other items that I prefer to make rather than purchase, because it’s a blender and a food processor all in one. Chemicals in foods nowadays are terrifying so I try to make a good deal of our food at home now. It’s super easy to clean, which is a big bonus for me. The more I got into smoothie making I purchased this Ebook for recipe ideas. I was able to make some up, but I would get sick of the same thing, but once I purchased the Ebook I started making a lot more. I also make a lot of the recipes for my twins as a snack because they really enjoy them too. The book has a smoothie for just about everything: weight loss, detox, etc. I know I’m not an ebook person, but I have to say, this one was super worth it for me. I can pull it up quickly on my phone and make a quick and easy smoothie that tastes amazing. Click Here to purchase my favorite smoothie recipe book.

My second favorite item I use at home is this scale. I have more than option on my Amazon Storefront, but this one is my fav. If I’m going to have my feelings hurt by a scale it’s at least going to be a cute one, ya know? But really I love the features this one has. A lot of people tell you not to watch the scale and to an extent I agree but I really can’t help it. I like seeing where I am at, but I do keep in mind that just because the number didn’t change doesn’t mean my body didn’t, and I think that’s the most important thing to keep in mind while using a scale. The app is super helpful and provides a great amount of information. It helps you track your progress and your goals. BMI is something I’d always have to go to a place like Nutrishop to check on their machine but it’s nice being able to keep an eye on it at home. I highly recommend this scale I use it at least weekly.

REMEMBER YOU’RE MORE THAN A NUMBER ON A SCALE. THE NUMBER DOESN’T DEFINE YOU OR YOUR PROGRESS.

My Secret Ingredient

I know you must dying to find out what my secret ingredient to my weight loss is. I stumbled upon this item just reading around at some other people’s journeys. When I found it I knew I recognized the brand from various influencers and drug stores. I know a lot of people swear by some of their other supplements. As soon as I saw it, I began to read the reviews and they were really good so I thought why not. The description talked about the energy it could provide and before taking them I had a hard time with low energy so that was a big selling point for me. I’ve taken two rounds of them now, because I like to make sure before I tell you about them. I really feel like they’ve boosted my results and contributed to my losing 25lbs. The gummies actually taste good too, which made adding them to my routine even easier. Working out, eating well, and taking these all together I believe have helped me to achieve some of my weight loss goals. I am in no way a professional but as a postpartum mama these are the things that have helped me and I will be continuing to use these products in my fitness journey.
