Life is busy, between kids, husbands, homes, animals, social lives (if you even get one), etc. it’s a lot. Being a mom is A LOT. If you work full-time or have a side hustle you have to factor in time for that. There are only so many hours in a day, so are able to work in anytime for yourself?

I’m a huge believer that you can’t pour from an empty cup. Personally, I like to read, bake, sew, and craft. I’m basically 90 in a 29 year old’s body. Ouiser Boudreaux is basically who I’m destined to become. Making time to do these things is hard. If you manage to make time for yourself then you’re greeted by the incessant mom guilt and little voice in your head telling you all of the things you should be doing instead. I wanted to share a couple of ways I work in filling my cup as a wife, mom to twins and three dogs, and a homemaker.

It’s The Little Things

Who doesn’t rely on the little things? Isn’t that what we tell our husbands we want? Well, we also need to give ourselves the little things too. So, here is a list of some of my favorite things.

  1. Wake Up Earlier- Yes, I know that sounds dreadful. Maybe the kids were up late or you had to work late, whatever it might be I highly recommend you still wake up a little earlier. I started waking up before the sun, and I have been able to peacefully enjoy my first cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. I can plan my day and get ahead on things I need to get done and also exercise. I’ve always been way more productive when I wake up early. I don’t always want to do it but I make myself, and my reward is a wonderful cup of coffee… or two. CLICK HERE or the picture to the right to purchase my personal favorite machine.

  2. Shower before everyone wakes up. The water is hot, the house is quiet, and it gives you a minute to hear yourself think. The other bonus is you don’t have to figure out how to work it into your day, and all of us moms know how hard that can be.

  3. Who doesn’t love some flowers? 1-800-FLORALS has an awesome monthly flowers plan that is super affordable and will brighten your month. My father, mother, and I have all ordered from 1-800-FLORALS for various occasions, and their flowers are beautiful, fresh, and affordable. I don’t know about you but I tried to order my best friend some flowers recently and I didn’t realize how expensive they had gotten, so my dad actually recommended I try 1-800-FLORALS and now I use them for EVERYTHING! Flowers add a little happiness to any room. Click the picture below to get your flowers today!

Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good

  1. Getting Dressed Everyday. I know big eye roll at that one and for a lot of reasons right? You maybe aren’t seeing anyone or going anywhere, that just creates more laundry, or you’re just too tired. I’ve found that the days I get dressed, even if it’s just leggings and a pullover or shirt I feel better. I feel more put together and I think it makes me more productive. So get up and get out of those sweatpants or pajama pants, mom. For me at least, when I look sloppy I feel like I’m more lazy and don’t really care. I’m all for comfy clothes, but you can be comfy and still cute. Here are two of my favorite lounge sets from Target that are ACTUALLY ON SALE RIGHT NOW!! CLICK THE PICTURES BELOW TO SHOP

2. Take a bath. I love a nice hot bath with a bath bomb, book, and something yummy to drink. I could probably just sit in there forever. It’s the perfect quiet time. It leaves you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and smelling good. Here are some of my bath time must haves for myself. Click the Books A Million Link to grab all of the best reads. Honestly, I love going to their actual store, because be real the smell of coffee and books is dreamy, but as a mom to young toddlers sometimes those trips don’t exactly workout like they used to. Shopping online is a mom’s lifesaver. CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE BATH BOMBS or click the picture to the right.

3. Complete Your Skin Care Routine. This is something I’m honestly so bad about, I can’t help it. I keep reminding myself I’m officially at the age that NEEDS eye cream but here we are. I always feel so accomplished when I do it though. My skin feels and looks better and I just feel cleaner in general especially when I do it before bed. I use a jade roller which i have linked HERE!! Putting a mask on and rolling over it with the jade roller is absolutely dreamy.

Thankful, Grateful, and Blessed

This might be my favorite section.

  1. The first thing I do EVERY morning, after I make my cup of coffee, is grab my Bible and notebooks. One is my Prayer Journal and the other is where I do my Bible Study notes and keep track of what I’ve read. I’d love to share how I do my Bible notes and Prayer Journal if you’re interested. I know when I start my day without God I feel a little empty. I’m going to link here the Bible, pens, etc. that I use daily.

  2. Okay this may seem kind of lame to some people but I also do this everyday; I look at my Vision Board and then a board of quotes that I’ve made on Pinterest. I highly recommend having both of these boards on Pinterest. I’ve found they both really center me and encourage me. That little negative voice in my head seems to quieten down when I’m reading my quotes and affirmations, and I can definitely tell when I don’t read them for a day.

All of this to say, you are also a priority and don’t let the hustle and bustle of life tell you any different!
